The Contest Pg
Creating the first Global Rank Index in history for artists in the area of Video,
Photo/Picture, Blogs. Open to any participants globally.
Idu will hold monthly contests for these 3 categories and
first 3 spots in each category will receive cash prizes and trophies. The theme of the contest will be announced at
the start of each month. Some examples of
themes are love and tolerance, cultural bliss and conflicts etc
Scoring is based on user contributed votes and the top 20 in
each category will then be given additional round of judging by a panel of
experts to determined the top 3 winners.
Each user can only contribute 1 vote per category.
Contestants ranking each month is then computed and stored
each month to compute a global ranking
for every contestant. The rankings will be updated at the end of the contests
each month similar to global rankings in sports like tennis or golf.
Finally all artists will
have a global ranking to go by and be judged or recognized easily.
The ranking is based on a proprietary formula for the last 5
yrs with heavier weightings for more recent yrs performance in the order of
:50%, 30%, 10%, 5%,5 %.
Award ceremonies will be held about twice a yr to present
the No.1 World Ranking awards in each category.
Video – movies, documentary, music videos, ads etc. No

The approach of solving most social or economic
problems by getting just one person to help, mentor, or coach another person is
a very powerful and precise solution to many problems in our modern society. It

Even with the availability of time and modern
technology to participate in solving world’s problems, one may still not do so
due to inertia or apathy. The problems of apathy and the unwillingness to
participate in charitable activities due to pressures of life and human
complacency are influenced by our own culture; in our way of life, thought, and

strong platform for personal empowerment, not just people helping others but

commute, 1hr of dinner/lunch/breakfast, 4 hrs of
recreation/phonecalls/tv/reading/meetings, leaving a maximum of 2 hrs of free
quality time each weekday besides weekend.
Even if the 2hrs allows, charity participation is usually
difficult due to time to commute, scheduling, and lack of organization.
The internet is able to match users free time accordingly,
schedule accurately and organize efficiently based on matching each users
needs/wants and skills/experience/education. This minimizes slippage, commute
time, eliminate proximity problem, and even creates spontaneous participation
through the cellphone connection.
The internet and mobile phone technologies makes helping

countries with poverty population more than 50%, it strongly requires

It is strange and baffling to see economies of emerging
country economies booming and the poor is still suffering and not getting their
deserved benefits and economic infrastructure. Corruption in any form in these
governments caused misallocation of resources, imbalanced or “misplaced”
economic capital during economic crises, aggravating the poor conditions of the
poor during crises, and cause international financial market disturbance as
money went missing unaccounted for and thereby creating international financial
distrust and freeze in the lending system which possibly further exacerbate the
economic crises and potentially social disorders.
Political will to eliminate governmental corruption and
establish strong system of accountability is necessary to assure long term
international equilibrium in social, financial, economic order.
A culture of love and
compassion from the civilized world to participate in a more active role of
helping through “participation through travel and migration” while not sacrificing their career goals or

Idu defines progressive media as one that is
simulative, provocative, inspirational to our emotional, intellectual stimulus,
one that touches our soul and open our hearts and mind to intellectual and
emotional thinking, questioning, reasoning, learning, growth and thus personal
evolution. Our daily emotional needs and logical thoughts and actions go
through multiple stages of before deciding on courses of action in life. It is
this complex emotional process that the media should try to depict creatively
and bring it full of life to the audience instead of the usual, vain love/hate
melodrama the media usually tries to exploit. Today’s media is flooded with
excessive violence; vulgarism and thrillers that are simulative to our senses
and fulfill our emotional needs but does nothing to escalate learning and
positive growth. .
Violence or pure vulgarism as a pure media tactic to thrill,
shock or gain attention or to distinct oneself or to increase viewership and
reaction on the art should be deemed
“uncool” similar to a filmmaker

Actions, thrillers and violence should only be used as part

believes that arts and the artistic culture is the solution to this issue. Artistic
endeavors such as short writings, poems, paintings, photography, and fashion,
will address cross culture issues and promote peace and love. The reason arts
can be effective is due to its ability to be subtly assertive, creatively
diplomatic while not rubbing old wounds on any parties. It bridges common
grounds, traits, forges common ties, bonds, and engenders unity and
relationship.
MORAL DILEMMAS
MD are moral issues in life that
are difficult to deal with and more often than not has no “right” answers and
is forever open-ended. Idu attempt to come out with answers in all the
compilation of issues below
ISSUE 1: Speaking up with courage versus being
complacent, or going along with obviously wrong/complacent consensus or being
excessively compromising to maintain peaceful relationships. The courage to do
whats right, being responsible and
fixing the problems, going against consensus.
Respect, tolerance, openesss to differences doesn’t mean not
speaking up against what is obviously wrong
ISSUE 2:
The issue of “Cultured” (refer to Perfect World article)- full
consideration for others, love and compassion as first nature, helping others =
helping yourself, importance of loving
everyone equals loving yourself and discovering love and relationship in a new
light etc
Importance of “Cross cultured”
loving all others, neighbors, strangers
regardless of
different sub-culture, racial, and social issues.
The parent-child model as foundation/formula, the
brother-sister model applied to loving all others/strangers.
One has to recognize that love
is a selfless energy that encompass all, never partial, -with partial as
incomplete – thus the importance of loving everyone, stranger alike due to the
organic connection between everything in existence. The real nature of someone
who gives is kindness and everyone is kindness/goodness personified; you see
and feel the same vulnerability in all others that you feel within yourself.
Therefore kindness to yourself leads you to kindness towards others. When one
recognized that we are all one and the same, when we give to others, we are
giving to ourselves. One never fully complete/empower oneself until all others
are fully complete and empowered.
ISSUE 3:
Striving for perfection vs
contentment with “good enough non-perfection”, natural evolution, problems of
complacency
Thus preparation beyond
expectation and constantly striving for perfection as non-perfection always
evolves into problems.
The universe is created with
positive and negative energy. Why negative too, one may ask, why not just the
positive energies, emotions, thoughts? The negative is necessary to balance out
the positive to prevent extremes – they act as self defense mechanism to allow
cautiousness, humbleness and prevent
emotional extremes that cause carelessness, manic behaviors with people acting
out of line, out of control, out of character. It also allow better planning
and alertness and awareness to solve problems quickly as problems emerge and
not procrastinate. And without the negative, one would not understand or
appreciate the positive as there wont be any thing to distinct it against.
The understanding of negative emotions as necessary
self defense mechanism– emotions like bitterness, jealousy, guilt, fear, greed,
sadness – does not mean its existence are naturally fine and would not cause
problems. The fact of its existence always guarantees the possibilities of
negative extremes such as hatred, selfishness, and other forms of evil thoughts
and actions. And all these negative extremes without swift proper intervention/balancing back into its
balanced equilibrium state again upon careful planning, education and preparation always evolved into
uncontrollable serious viral problems, not easily controlled or resolved over time.
So what is the solution?
Understanding that such extremes are possible, careful planning and swift
actions and interventions are required, even from the outside with help from 3rd
parties if the system is inherently or politically stuck.
One should understand
the possibilities of excessive extreme in both positives and negatives that
requires forces on the outside to balance/mold decisively as nothing is
naturally perfect based on evolution
Thus one should always strive for perfection, the
right/perfect balance with lots of planning, preparation and executions as
complacency or the content with a non-perfect state naturally evolving always
breeds problems down the road.
Many would argue against perfection as they adopt the notion
that perfection restricts freedom, creativity, free will as it involves details
and more control, more balancing of the extremes. This is furthest from the
truth since lack of security creates fear which truly restricts freedom. Only
when security is truly secured out of responsibility and consideration for all
can one truly experiment with creativity for growth and truly experience free
will.
One should remember the priority that freedom, free
choice, free will are not truly free without responsibilities to do the right
thing, to maintain consideration for all.
It is perfection that creates the freedom, creativity for
growth – not the lack of it.

zen/peace.

ISSUE 35 honesty, being genuine and real vs lying out of

ISSUE 37 Value of being Tactful,

possible vs impossible – will, political will, imagination, focus,

controversies.
